New Year 2024: Laying Our Foundations, Building Momentum

HELLO FELLOW WRITERS, READERS, AND FRIENDS!

Welcome to the start of our New Year here at Capsonart Publishing!

Quoting one of our currently published books

"I Want To Sing Your Song" (Cadmus & Walters, 2020), it reads,

"Better Days are ahead. Forward, forward I march. Not looking back, I see the prize before me. I lost much, but I don’t have to look back anymore. I have come too far to turn back now" (p. 137).

OUR LITERARY JOURNEY

It has been six years since we embarked on our literary journey, and the name Capsonart has taken on new significance. What began as a personal endeavour by our founder, Ms. Cadmus has evolved into more than what she dreamed.

It is now a Publishing House with the foundational purpose of sharing stories that entertain, enlighten, and provide the best reading and writing experiences. We are beyond grateful to have crossed over into 2024, ready and prepared to tell our stories the right way.

SINCE 2023

Last year, we initiated our Soft Launch Phase in February 2023, allocating our goals into three segments, each representing a distinct launch phase.

  • Phase 1 - Establishing Foundations and Initiating Growth

  • Phase 2 - Laying Our Foundation and Building Momentum

  • Phase 3 - Expansion and Full Operation

Over a period of 10 months, we redirected our attention to strategizing and understanding our book production processes. Additionally, we looked for varying ways to establish our literary presence and what we needed to grow. However, there have also been eye-opening lessons and key takeaways we needed to know and understand for the journey ahead.

Not Despising our Small Beginnings

Last week, we shared these takeaways - Read Here - and then took a break from posting on our social media and website, as well as any type of administrative work. It was important for us to rest, mirroring the example set by God on the seventh day after completing his greatest creation—us, his people—on the sixth day of creation (Genesis 1).

From 'A Message from Capsonart's Founder: Small Beginnings,' the number one takeaway that resonated with us is the understanding that, as a

Christian book publisher, we must trust in God and not despise small beginnings.

"Better Days Ahead"

Moving forward, our goal is to be more intentional, trust the process, and employ patience with ourselves in everything we do. Looking back at our small successes, here is:

WHAT WE ACCOMPLISHED

  • Out In the Community: Last year we had the amazing opportunity to have our very first booth at the Women's Leadership Forum, hosted by the DIVERSECITY Community Resources Society and MINERVA.

  • Brand Content: We focused on refining and redesigning our brand content

  • In-House Writers: We formed in-house writers who are currently in the process of completing their book projects for future releases, providing you with the opportunity to enjoy and read them.

  • Manuscript and Book Project Development: Our concentration was on manuscript and book project development.

  • Creating Partnerships: We actively pursued partnerships, and just before the end of the year — getting ahead of ourselves a bit — we connected with a new partnership for a writers' workshop.

"Building Momentum"

BUILDING ON WHAT YOU HAVE AND WHAT YOU KNOW

As we transition from Phase 1 to Phase 2, titled

'Laying Our Foundation and Building Momentum,'

let's delve into a comprehensive overview of our focus for the year 2024, which we have organized into monthly quarters.

Starting with the first quarter (January – March), our concentration will be on:

  • Book Production: This is what we are truly about and we are concentrating the majority of our efforts on the development of our in-house book projects during this quarter, ensuring the highest quality and relevance. Details about our books (fictional and nonfiction) can be found on our book page.

  • Out in The Community: This quarter marks a significant step as we host our first Writers Workshop. The workshop aims to foster creativity and provide a support group to help those called to write stay accountable and gain greater confidence in their writing ministry

  • Hosting RTN for Fall 2024: In support of wellness and holistic awareness We are excited to host RTN for the t second time (insert the full form or description) in the fall of 2024. The form can be found at

  • Training and Education: as mentioned in our takeaway post don’t despise small things, we are redirecting our energy to educate ourselves and learn. In short, build on what we know

  • Building Our YouTube Channel: To connect more deeply with our audience, we aim to enhance our presence on YouTube, sharing valuable content related to our mission and vision.

Further details about the 1st quarter will be shared in our sample E-Magazine which will be released at the end of this month.

You can view the progression of our three launch phases here, and, best of all, join our Writers, Readers, and Friends Community to receive special updates and more as we gradually prepare to launch our publishing house!
