CAPSONART PUBLISHING LAUNCH PHASE: The Phases of our Publishing "House"

Updated: Feb 11

HELLO FELLOW WRITERS, READERS, AND FRIENDS!

Wherever you are and whatever time you are reading this blog post, we extend a warm welcome to you!

Today marks a significant time for Capsonart Publishing as we actively engage in the development phase of our Publishing House.

At this juncture of the road, amidst the ushering winds of Spring, we have been working diligently behind the scenes. Our efforts have been focused on channeling our creativity, spirit, and heart into crafting narratives that resonate with the heart of the reader.

Inspired by God's words, "Let there be light,"

"Telling Our Stories to Lighten Our World" has been our founding mantra, a consistent theme for our literary endeavours, and the epitome of our creative ingenuity.

You may have noticed that the months of February and March have been quiet since our last post 'Laying Our Foundations, Building Momentum.'

If you were to take a step closer and peek behind the curtains, you’d likely hear the sounds of excavation and construction echoing beyond the veil. These sounds metaphorically convey our intentional approach to building our Publishing House. As the times progress forward, and as we enter our second quarterly goals each moment marks a significant time for Capsonart Publishing.

Starting with today’s blog post, we delve into the concepts of "phases," exploring what it takes to initiate, build, and establish a publishing house.

Prior to this moment in time, Capsonart was a name that resonated in our spirits. Following the publication of our two debut prints, our vision began to take shape. There was so much to learn, but what was important was understanding that these things took time, and that our narratives would (and continue to) form the foundation of our literary "house".

Bearing this in mind, we have exercised our prerogative and restrategized on the ways to approach our goals and objectives to launch our book publishing productivity. Through careful consideration, we have opted to slow down. We recognize that anything to be built or created must start somewhere. We value and are engaged with our small beginnings. It's not just about starting somewhere, but also about allocating our activities into their respective phases.

Those who know how to build a 'house' or have experience in construction will tell you that there are phases and key steps to building a house. This would involve:

Phase 1: Pre-Construction

  • Phase 2: Excavation to Lay the Foundation

  • Phase 3: Framing

  • Phase 4: Interior and Exterior Work -

  • Phase 5: The Completion

With each phase, specific tasks are categorized according to the project's needs and objectives.

For example: during the pre-construction phase, the project's concepts are planned with a blueprint. Teams are formalized to help steer and coordinate specific tasks. Activities are meticulously organized to guarantee the smooth progression of the project.

Foundations, integral to construction, serve as the backbone for any physical structure. Though often unseen, they provide essential support and stability. Any compromise in their quality, such as cracks or improper installation, can result in irreparable damage and costly repairs.

Building upon these principles, we've expanded our focus to the foundational elements of our publishing house.

We are:

  • meticulously crafting the foundation, carefully establishing our framework (how we operate).

  • Delving deep into understanding our identity and how we can serve our community.

  • Meeting writers right where they are.

For Capsonart Publishing startup development, we initially categorized our phases into three categories:

  • Phase 1: Establishing Foundations and Initiating Growth

  • Phase 2: Laying Our Foundation and Building Momentum

  • Phase 3: Expansion and Full Operations

After careful consideration and re-strategizing, we have revised our approach and outlined our phases as follows:

  • Phase One – We are excavating our land to start over. Restructuring and Understanding the Writers Pathway

  • Phase Two –We are Laying Our Foundation. Establishing our Book production process from acquisition to distribution.

  • Phase 3 – We are establishing our brand and building our team. Focusing on solidifying our brand identity and assembling a strong team to drive our vision forward.

  • Phase 4 – We are Developing and Initiating our Internal and External Processes. Building on our credibility and consistency

  • Phase 5 – We are Fine-Tuning Our Mode of Operations Refining and optimizing our operational methods to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across all aspects of our publishing venture.

  • Phase 6 – Launching Our Books Tellings Our stories to Lighten Our world

The Literary Home for the Writer In You.

It's expected that, like any journey, things can change, and the terrain can present challenges. We may need to prepare for adjustments if necessary. Our journey to reach this point has been filled with both challenges and rewarding experiences, all of which have contributed to shaping our identity and mission.

Our vision and purpose have evolved through the learning curves and the voices we've encountered along the way. As a result, we've found it difficult to ignore the call to be the nurturing "house" where writers can discover their voice and own the gift of their best narratives.

Capsonart's goal is to become the publishing house that nurtures the writer within you.
